Training Run Sat 11/28/09

Training Runs:
Saturday 11/ 28/09
Still sore from the Turkey Trot on Thursday I knew I needed to run, I missed running with my friend Randy in the morning because I was exhausted and needed to sleep in. I have learned over the years of training to listen to my body, if I am tired I rest! It was a chili Saturday morning and I hate running in the cold! I sipped my morning cup of coffee and contemplated getting out there. I turned on the TV only planning to watch only a few minutes that turned into 3 hours of Wyatt Earp! I didn’t realize it was that long! I finally pulled myself out the door and out to run two 3-mile loops around my local regional park. I ran one loop than reversed back the other way. Here are my running stats:
Time 1:38 pm
Distance: 6.01 miles
Time: 50:36
Average pace: 8:25
Max speed: 9.6 mph
Elevation ascent: 951 ft
Elevation descent 964 ft
Calories burned 646 cal
Slowest Mile: Mile 1
Fastest Mile: Mile 6
Mile 1: 9:30
Mile 2: 8:09
Mile 3: 8:01
Mile 4: 8:19
Mile 5 8:42
Mile 6 7:51
During this run I didn’t carry any water and didn’t have to make any pit stops; I felt pretty good despite being sore, but got some really good momentum going on the rolling hills. I always love finishing fast. Tomorrow I am looking forward to running my last 10-mile taper before the Rock and Roll Vegas Marathon next week!
